Can true wireless sound earbuds ever be gaming-grade? Well, I am no expert to say if it can or it cannot but Logitech G claims it has the first-ever gaming-grade earbud and it is calling it Logitech G FITS. Hmmm, is it me or does the name “FITS” make this feel like a pair of sporty earbuds? Just thinking aloud here.
Powered by professional-grade LIGHTSPEED wireless connectivity – the first-ever earbud to do so – as well as Bluetooth, Logitech G FITS promised to deliver gaming-grade audio performance on a range of devices, including PC, Mac, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices, and with pro-grade connection, high-performance audio response, and long battery life to boot.
The earbuds afford up to 7 hours of listening time and an additional 8 hours from the charging case while on LIGHTSPEED. When connected via Bluetooth, this pair of earbuds can yield 10 hours of listening time plus 12 hours from the charging case.
As much as we are intrigued by LIGHTSPEED wireless technology on this pair of earbuds, we cannot help but be distracted by the Lightform molding technology that promised the perfect fit. Unlike some custom-fit earbuds that require you to take pictures or scan your sound holes using a companion app or go down to a store to get your ear holes molded, the custom-fit technology is performed directly on the earbud.
If it sounds super high-tech that is because it is. Seriously, the fact that this custom-fit technology is built right into each earbud is pretty mind-blowing. Lightform and the Logitech G FITS mobile app will trigger a number of embedded LEDs which will harden the gel-filled tips to contours of each ear. The result is a contoured, custom-fit earbud in a matter of a minute.
The custom-fit earbud will be fitting and comfy, and you will be able to enjoy the full, warm and detailed sound with deep punch bass while being sealed out from the ambient noise – thanks to the perfect seal.
You can further tweak the sound from the app by selecting from preset EQs optimized for FPS or RPG games, music, podcasts, and more, or fine-tune your own EQ settings.
The Logitech G FITS True Wireless Gaming Earbuds will retail for US$229.99 when it becomes available in October 2022.
