Lotus Formula One concept car is wrapped in carbon fiber

(credit: Sonny Lim)

do you know Sonny Lim? honestly, i don’t, but what i know that this guy has one hell of an imagination. paying tribute to Aryton Senna’s 1986 Lotus 98T, Sonny is not afraid to show the world his interpretation of the Team Lotus’s car for the Formula One 2011 season with the familiar colors of black and gold. instead of sponsor logos in bright colors, Sonny’s concept has them in matte tonal colors over the clear coated carbon fiber body. the top of the car is where the majority of the drag is, hence it is coated with matte finish to “improve laminar flow reducing turbulence and increasing aerodynamic efficiency.” seriously, we don’t care much about the drag coefficient technicalities. we just know it look wonderfully gorgeous. let’s face it, black isn’t for everyone which is perhaps why Sonny has conjured up a white ‘top’ version too. equally awesome. check out a few images after the break to judge for yourself. Lotus T 125 should really be dressed in this design.
