If you are a Pokémon trainer travelling across Japan in search of new Pokémon, then I suppose you do need an accommodation. If so, MIMARU has the fitting accommodations for you. The hotel, best known for its apartment-style accommodations suitable for families and groups, introduced Pokémon Rooms last year. This year, the hotel revealed that it has renovated and expanded the Pokémon Rooms.
Operated by Cosmos Hotel Management Co., Ltd., MIMARU has doubled down on what already worked by adding more Pokémon and dialing up the fun factor. The newly refreshed Pokémon Rooms now feature over 100 Pokémon integrated throughout the space, turning each room into something closer to a playable environment than a themed hotel stay. Walls, ceilings, furniture, kitchens, and even bathrooms are now part of the experience, making it feel as if the Pokémon have escaped their Poké Balls and settled in.
The renovation introduces themed zones within the room. Water-type Pokémon take over the bathroom, while the kitchen highlights food-loving characters, which feels fitting given that every room includes a fully equipped kitchen and dining area. Front and center, as expected, is a giant Snorlax plush sprawled across the bed, instantly claiming its role as the room’s most photographed resident.
These Pokémon Rooms are now available across 10 MIMARU properties in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, including new locations such as MIMARU Tokyo Hatchobori and MIMARU Tokyo Ikebukuro. The apartment-style layout remains a key draw, with generous space, separate sleeping areas, and practical amenities that make longer stays comfortable for families and groups.
Each stay also comes with exclusive MIMARU-original Pokémon merchandise, including themed fabric bags and collectible items that double as souvenirs. Reservations are currently open through the end of November 2026.
Pricing varies by location, room type, and dates. Check MIMARU’s official website for current rates and availability.
