Wait a minute… so the unveiling of Motorola’s first book-style foldable, motorola razr fold, back in January. is not the actual unveiling. It was just the first look. Now, at the ongoing MWC in Barcelona, then it has gotten the official reveal? So, yes, the first book-style foldable from Motorola has been revealed, again, but this time with more details.
The motorola razr fold marks a new era for the razr family, stepping beyond flip nostalgia and straight into productivity territory. Closed, you get a slim 6.6-inch external display. Open it up, and it transforms into an 8.1-inch 2K LTPO canvas. At just 4.6 mm thin when unfolded and 9.9 mm when closed, it is remarkably sleek, yet anchored by a stainless steel teardrop hinge engineered for long-term durability.
Beneath the display sits a titanium inner screen plate, paired with Ultra-Thin Glass and Anti-Shock Film to maintain a smooth, consistent fold over time. On the outside, it is the world’s first smartphone with Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3, delivering over 75 percent better drop performance compared to the previous generation.
Powering the experience is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Mobile Platform, backed by 16 GB RAM with RAM Boost and up to 1 TB storage. There is liquid cooling to keep things steady during gaming and multitasking. Motorola promises up to seven Android OS upgrades and seven years of security updates, which is unusually generous in Android land.
The battery is a hefty 6,000 mAh unit using silicon-carbon tech, paired with 80 W TurboPower charging that delivers over 12 hours of power in 12 minutes. Wireless charging clocks in at 50 W.
Camera is where this foldable flexes hardest. Rated the number one foldable camera and number two smartphone camera in North America by DXOMARK, and awarded the DXOMARK Gold Label, it features a 50 MP Sony LYTIA 828 main sensor with Dolby Vision video and 8K recording, a 50 MP periscope telephoto with 3x optical zoom and up to 100x Super Zoom Pro, a 50 MP ultrawide with 122-degree field of view and Macro Vision down to 3.5 cm, plus a 32 MP internal selfie camera and 20 MP external camera. Sound is tuned with Dolby Atmos and Sound by Bose. I guess it has sight and sound covered. Maybe?
It also supports moto pen ultra for precision note-taking and sketching, complete with pressure sensitivity and tilt detection. AI features such as “Catch me up” and “Pay Attention” help manage notifications and conversations in real time.
Oh, like the new razr, the book style razr fold also has a FIFA World Cup 26 edition. The FIFA World Cup 26 Collection razr fold, as it is called, brings a tournament-inspired look to Motorola’s foldable lineup. This specially designed version blends bold styling with premium craftsmanship, featuring a textured raised-dot pattern inspired by the materials and feel of the game, adding tactile depth and improved grip.
The glossy “26” detailing gives the device a standout, collectible appeal, while the official FIFA World Cup 26 logo sits proudly in stainless steel with 24K gold plating. It is not merely a cosmetic tweak. Well, it kind of is. But to a true football fan, it’d feel like a commemorative piece you would want to keep long after the tournament wraps up.
The motorola razr fold will be available in select markets in the coming months, starting in Europe, bundled with moto pen ultra at €1,999 (about US$2,319). Availability in other regions is to be announced. Also, we have no clue about the pricing and availability of the FIFA World Cup 26 Collection razr fold.
