Not every concept needs a disappearing dashboard or a steering wheel that looks like a game controller. Sometimes, taking part of the roof off will do. Folks, meet the Nissan Z Kaze concept, a modern Z with T-tops and a healthy appreciation for ’90s tuning culture.
Revealed at ZCON 2026, this Nissan passion project wears Pacific Teal paint, flared fenders, a vented carbon-fiber hood, and a carbon-fiber aero kit. Its 18-inch NISMO LMGT2 wheels are restored originals, measuring 10 inches wide up front and 11 inches at the rear. That is commitment to the period-correct look.
White leather-appointed seats brighten the cabin, while Bose Personal Plus headrest speakers keep the music close when the roof panels come off.
Under the hood is a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6, supplemented by a GReddy SUPREME SP exhaust, front-mounted intercooler, and Airinx air filter kit. NISMO suspension upgrades complete the mechanical makeover. Nissan hasn’t supplied revised power figures.
“Kaze” means wind in Japanese. An appropriate name for a car whose biggest attraction is letting more of it in. I am not sure if it drifts well, or drifts at all, but from the name of the build, it sure sounds like a ride fit for a DK.
Unfortunately, Nissan says it isn’t available to buy. Now there’s a perfectly good way to spoil a coastal-drive fantasy.
