Niu’s XQi3 Electric Dirt Bike Unleashes 10,800W of Trail-Crushing Power

Niu Pure Electric XQi3 Off-road Dirt Bike

I would say kicking up dirt in the wild on a dirt bike is not exactly the most environmentally conscious thing to do. If we humans don’t fancy smog in our faces, there is a possibility that plants don’t like it either. That’s not to mention the sometimes irreversible damage to the environment. But you can relieve the ‘damage’ a tad by hitting the trail with an electric-powered example like the Niu Pure Electric XQi3 Off-road Dirt Bike.

Niu claims the XQi3 offers “the ideal blend of stability and comfort”. I don’t know about that, but I do see a scrambler that is futuristic yet rugged. It is completely street-legal with a road speed of 45 km/h (28 mph), or if you’re tearing up the dirt track, it can hit a lawless 80 km/h (50 mph). This isn’t just any old electric bike; it boasts Ultraboost that unleashes the inner beast with up to 10,800 W of electrifying power.

It’s outfitted with a 72 V 32 Ah LG lithium-ion removable battery that offers up to 90 km (56 miles) of range on a single charge. In the handling department, it rocks cutting-edge KKE suspension, powerful brakes with 203 mm rear and 220 mm front discs, and 19-inch off-road tires. The rear suspension is user-adjustable, letting you fine-tune the ride to your style and terrain.

This high-tech bike is app-enabled, too. Via Bluetooth, you can monitor the battery and vehicle status, track your route history, and more. It also has a large, bright TFT display with at-a-glance info, plus features like Lap Timer, Route Tracking, call answering, NFC unlock, Bluetooth unlock, and an Emergency Kill Switch that cuts power if the rider falls off.

There are two variants to choose from: Street and Wild. The latter is the more powerful model, though with a shorter range of 72 km (45 miles). Oh, and did I mention it’s incredibly lightweight? It tips the scales at just 76 kg (168 lbs). Absolutely bonkers.

The Niu Pure Electric XQi3 Off-road Dirt Bike is available in Europe with a starting price of €4,499 (about US$4,820).
