OnePlus Nord N20 5G Launched In Stateside For $299

OnePlus Nord N20 5G Smartphone

Not going to lie. I am enamored by phones with individual camera protrusion, i.e. no single camera bump. Right now, I believe there are two phones with such a design: Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and ASUS Zenfone 9. Actually, there is another before the Zenfone 9 was revealed and it is the OnePlus Nord N20 5G.

Armed with a large 6.43” FHD+ AMOLED display and powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G Mobile Platform, the OnePlus Nord N20 5G is a budget phone with an aesthetic you find with flagship devices.

It has an iPhone-ish squared-off design, a completed flat display, and a super clean back interjected only by two camera protrusions: a 64 MP EIS-capable main camera and a 2 MP macro lens camera. There is a monochrome lens camera flushed with the back.

Now, here’s the thing. On the official spec sheet, it is indicated as a monochrome lens but elsewhere, reviewers and blogs are saying it’s a depth sensor. I don’t know what gives. Anyhoo, around the front, there is a hole punch camera with a 16 MP sensor that supports face unlock.

Other notables include 6 GB LPDDR4x RAM, 128 GB UFS 2.2 storage that is further expandable up to 512 GB, an in-display fingerprint sensor, a large 4,500 mAh battery that supports 33 W SuperVOOC fast charging, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, USB-C interface, and beautiful thin form that is just 7.5 mm thin and weighs just 173g (6.1 oz).

Like the N series before it, it does not have the OnePlus iconic slider button and also, it has no wireless charging but that is kind of expected.

The OnePlus Nord N20 5G Smartphone is available stateside as we speak for a super affordable sticker of US$299.
