Polar Street X Makes Fitness Watches Look Less Like Fitness Watches

Polar Street X Urban Sports Watch

Polar is stepping beyond the usual “serious athlete only” crowd with the Street X, an urban sports watch that looks more at home with sneakers and a hoodie than a neon running singlet. Underneath the cleaner streetwear-inspired design, though, it still packs the fitness tracking DNA Polar is known for.

The watch supports heart-rate tracking, sleep monitoring, recovery insights, GPS workout tracking, and daily activity metrics, while keeping the interface intentionally simple and less intimidating than hardcore training watches. The lightweight build and minimalist case design also make it easier to wear all day without looking like you are about to start a triathlon at any moment.

Battery life stretches for multiple days (up to 10 days) depending on usage, and the watch integrates with Polar Flow for deeper workout and health analysis. In short, it is Polar trying to make a fitness watch for people who actually have lives outside the gym, too. Oh. It might be “Urban,” but it still has a military-grade build.

Display is a large 1.28” AMOLED, plus something you probably don’t expect from an “urban” smart sports watch: LED flashlight built-in, plus a Red Light function in case you have no intention of drawing attention or waking anyone up. I guess you could say it is an urban survival gear, too.

The Polar Street X Urban Sports Watch is available now for US$249.99, in a choice of three colorways: Night Black, Snow White, and Forest Green.
