Spinnaker’s Popeye Forearm Fury Dive Watch Is as Bold as the Sailor Himself

Spinnaker Piccard Automatic Popeye Forearm Fury Limited Edition

Popeye the Sailor Man, the classic pop-culture icon created by cartoonist E. C. Segar, is no stranger when it comes to timepieces. I am not talking about children’s wristwatches; we are talking about something more fitting for the pipe-smoking, spinach-loving sailor with bulging forearms. You know, like dive watches?

Serious watch collabs date back to 2014 with the Bamford Popeye Yachtmaster Rolex Watch, and then there were the Undone x Popeye timepieces in recent years. But I think none of those, or any other Popeye collab for that matter, come close to being as striking as the Spinnaker Piccard Automatic Popeye Forearm Fury Limited Edition.

Like the legendary cartoon sailor’s bulging forearms, this dive watch is massive, bold, and built for attention. It features Piccard’s signature super-domed sapphire crystal—anti-reflection coated, no less—inspired by historic deep-sea exploration instruments, offering an expansive view of the exclusive Popeye dial design.

The powerful exterior houses a Japanese automatic NH35 movement for precise timing both above and underwater. Meanwhile, a ceramic unidirectional bezel lets dive enthusiasts track elapsed dive time. Though interestingly, the bezel is not numbered all around; it is interjected by Popeye‘s catchphrase “I YAM WHAT I YAM” engraved between 12 and 4 o’clock, replacing the 10 and 20 mark.

Swiss luminous details enable low-light time reading both in and out of water, while the extraordinary 55 ATM water resistance ensures it remains functional up to 550 meters (1,805 feet).

Other highlights include a 45 mm stainless steel case, a 22 mm solid stainless steel bracelet, and a screw-down crown.

The Spinnaker Piccard Automatic Popeye Forearm Fury Limited Edition will be available in three colors: Buoy Blue, Barnacle Black, and Blistering Red, each going for US$600. The Buoy Blue has a limited run of 450 pieces, while the Barnacle Black and Blistering Red have just 375 and 325 pieces to go around, respectively.

The watch will launch in May 2026 at the following times:

If you really want one, we suggest signing up before launch for priority access. Folks who do so will receive an email with a special link for a one-hour early-access shopping window before the official launch. However, signing up does not reserve a watch. Each customer may only purchase one piece per variant.

Meanwhile, over in Japan, the purchase process plays differently. Pre-order is available starting May 15, 2026, with the official release date on June 05, 2026. The asking price in Japan is 99,000 yen with tax [JP].
