Clearly, someone over at Ultimea thinks that 7.1.4, 980W, and a lone subwoofer aren’t quite enough for an immersive home entertainment experience. How else do you explain that the company is now dishing out a 9.2.6-channel system? You heard that right. Ultimea’s latest surround sound system is going big.
The Ultimea Skywave X100 Surround Sound System boasts a 9.2.6-channel configuration with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, creating a fully immersive 360° soundstage with exceptional depth and overhead realism. This means a whopping nine main channels, two subwoofers, and no fewer than six height channels.
Not going to lie. It is overkill for a small room, but if you have a larger space and need more oomph when watching movies, this may be it. With so many speakers comes messy cables—or not, because the Ultimea Skywave X100 Surround Sound System is completely wireless. It promises stable connectivity and ultra-low latency (under 20 ms).
THX has long been the gold standard in surround sound certification, ensuring precise, balanced, and faithful audio reproduction. The Skywave X100 is tuned by THX, so you can enjoy cinema-grade audio at home. Bassheads who are hell-bent on bringing the house down will swoon over its dual 10-inch subwoofers. Yes, it has not one, but two subs delivering bass that reaches down to 18 Hz. With that kind of low-end power, you’d better be living in an isolated mansion—or you may become the neighborhood’s worst enemy.
The setup includes quad surround speakers with six up-firing channels, delivering enhanced height effects without the need to install speakers high up on the walls. There is also independent channel volume control, allowing you to fine-tune each channel to suit your room and listening preferences.
The Skywave X100 further touts 8K@60Hz and 4K@120Hz passthrough for uncompromised visuals and ultra-smooth gaming, along with NeuraCore DSP and GaN amplification for advanced processing and high-efficiency power. The result is detailed, dynamic sound with impressive clarity.
The Ultimea Skywave X100 will be offered in two versions: Skywave X100 Dual (9.2.6) and Skywave X100 (9.1.6). The former features dual subwoofers, while the latter comes with a single subwoofer.
Ultimea will launch the Skywave X100 on Kickstarter on March 12, 2026. The company is offering a US$9.90 pre-order reservation, with early backers receiving an additional US$100 discount voucher on top of Kickstarter campaign pricing.
