There’s more of the star rally car from the upcoming Chinese New Year film Pegasus 3. This time, it’s from Chinese die-cast model heavyweight XCARTOYS. Also officially licensed, but this time it appears Audi is onboard, too.
The XCARTOYS Pegasus 3 Rally Car Die-cast Model recreates the protagonist’s rally machine in 1/64 scale. Like the Turbo Racing RC version, it does not let its small size get in the way of detail. Unlike the brick-built model and the 1/76 RC toy, it proudly wears Audi’s four-ring logo—front and back.
It has a removable hood that lets you admire the intricately crafted engine details. The hood does not open traditionally; instead, it is completely removable and attaches to the vehicle with magnets. Fun fact: the movie car’s engine spec is not officially homologated by the FIA. It is a 2.0-liter TFSI (EA888 family) turbo engine.
While it does not have opening doors, XCARTOYS did not skim on the interior. The entire monocoque has been faithfully recreated, complete with a full carbon-fiber dashboard, a roll cage, and bucket seats with molded six-point harnesses. Even the racing steering wheel of the A3 Rally Car has been replicated in 1/64 scale. All interior details are set against the usual utilitarian racing-car cabin.
On the outside, the racing livery is complete with sponsors and crew identification markings on the sculpted wide-body kit. Individual components include the oversized carbon-fiber rear wing, carbon-fiber rear diffuser, taillights, and headlights. Rounding out the exterior are a roof scoop, hood vents, and rear vents, all appearing to be individually molded parts. The model rolls on rally-spec wheels wrapped in rubber tires.
The XCARTOYS Pegasus 3 Rally Car Die-cast Model is available in China via the XCARTOYS official store on Taobao.com for 129.90 yuan [CH] (about US$19).
