Xiaomi Is Also In The Game Of 5G, Starting With The Xiaomi 9 Pro 5G

Xiaomi 9 Pro 5G Smartphone

If you haven’t already heard, Xiaomi has recently joined the 5G game with a new 5G device, the Xiaomi 9 Pro 5G. It may share the namesake as the 9, but rest assure the innards are vastly differently.

For starter, it is a 5G dual SIM device (like, duh) and it now boasts the latest Qualcomm chip, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus (1x 2.9 GHz super big core + 3 x 2.42 GHz big core + 4 x 1.8 GHz small core) which is built on the all-new Kryo 485, 7 nm architecture.

Along with 855+, you will also get Adreno 640 GPU and the four-generation AIE. Memory comes in at up to 12 GB LPDDR4x 2133 MHZ RAM and up to 512 GB UFS 3.0 storage.

So, yeah, it is not just 5G that’s fast with this little guy. Charging is fast too, boasting 40W wired charging and almost as fast 30W wireless charging. Plus, it can charges compatible devices, wirelessly, at 10W (reverse charging).

And then there’s the VC cooling system, as well as this thing known as “super vibration transverse linear motor” haptic feedback.

Other details include a 6.39-inch AMOLED FHD+ (2,340 x 1,080 pixels, 403ppi) display from Samsung, a triple-camera setup (48 MP Sony IMX586 +12 MP Samsung S5K3M5 with 2x optical zoom + 16 MP Sony IMX481 ultra-wide/macro lens camera), a 20 MP Sony selfie camera, in-display fingerprint sensor, and a 4,000 mAh battery that supports QC4+ as well as PD charging via a USB Type-C interface port, of course.

Xiaomi 9 Pro 5G Smartphone is set to go on sale in China on November 5, 2019 with a starting price of 3,699.00 yuan (or about US$525).
