Remember when earbuds had wires, and you didn’t have to worry about losing one or forgetting to charge them? Well, Bose has decided that perhaps the old ways weren’t so bad after all. Meet the new Bose Noise Cancelling Wired Earbuds, a modern take on something many of us thought had been left behind in the Bluetooth era.
Unlike their wireless cousins, these earbuds plug directly into a compatible smartphone, tablet, or computer through USB-C. No Bluetooth pairing, no companion app, and no batteries to recharge. Even the active noise cancellation draws power from the connected device.
Well, will you look at me. Detailing a pair of wired earbuds, now considered ancient tech, like they’re some brand-new, never-before-seen technology. Not going to lie, as I was writing that, I felt like I was writing a manual for Fallout. Lol! What a time to be alive, eh?
Speaking of noise cancellation, Bose has equipped them with its proprietary QuietControl technology, using four microphones to monitor and reduce unwanted sounds. There are three listening modes: Quiet for blocking out distractions, Aware for hearing your surroundings, and ANC Off for regular wired listening.
Audio is handled by Bose’s SoundDesign digital signal processing technology, with support for lossless audio playback at up to 24-bit/48 kHz. The wired connection also promises low latency, which should come in handy for gaming and watching videos.
The earbuds feature a 1.28 m (4.2 ft) cable with an in-line remote and microphone for calls, playback, and volume control. Three sizes of silicone eartips and two sizes of stability wings are included for a customizable fit.
Other highlights include IPX4 water resistance, a zippered carrying case, and three color options: Black, White Smoke, and limited-edition Dewdrop Mint.
The Bose Noise Cancelling Wired Earbuds began shipping on October 15, 2026, although Bose’s US store currently lists them as sold out. They’re priced at US$99.
