This Upcoming G-Shock Has Been Hammered, But Not Like That

Casio G-Shock MRG-B5000HT-1 Tsuiki Wristwatch

This upcoming G-Shock has gotten hammered, literally. Not to test its shock resistance (which it can totally withstand, by the way), but to showcase tsuiki artistry. That’s right: it’s been hand-hammered on purpose, all in the name of art.

Meet the G-Shock MRG-B5000HT‑1 [JP], the ultimate combination of samurai-level craftsmanship and G-Shock’s ironclad toughness. It keeps the iconic 5000 form but gets a full upgrade: every bezel and bracelet link is hand-hammered by master tsuiki artisan Kazuya Watanabe, meaning each of the 500 units is genuinely one-of-a-kind.

Crafted from ultra-hard DAT55G titanium and finished in oborogin (a silver-gray DLC used in traditional sword fittings), it’s accented with shiny copper buttons that could outshine a katana’s tsuba. Despite the artisan sheen, this is still pure G-Shock spec: solar charging, Bluetooth, Multi‑Band 6 atomic timekeeping, sapphire crystal, and 200m water resistance, all waiting to survive your next misadventure.

Priced at 935,000 yen [JP] (about US $6,400), and limited to just 500 pieces worldwide. So yeah, your wrist game just hit legendary status—if your bank account can handle it.
