Demon Slayer X Asakusa Nezuko Kamado’s Bamboo Tube Meat Roll Really Should Belong To Kanamaran Matsuri

Demon Slayer X Asakusa Nezuko Kamado’s Bamboo Tube Meat Roll

I get it that brand collaborations can cover a wide range of products, but this particular collab product has turned out to be rather, well, unorthodox. Unorthodox perhaps not by choice, but poor execution by whoever made it. The product in question is Demon Slayer x Asakusa Nezuko Kamado’s Bamboo Tube Meat Roll.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (鬼滅の刃) is, of course, the Japanese manga series and Asakusa is a historic locality in Tokyo. There is nothing wrong with Bamboo Tube’s Meat Roll even though the Bamboo mouthpiece as seen in the manga on Nezuko Kamado’s mouth is not food; it is a muzzle.

Anyhoo, someone decided it is a good idea to turn it into a meat roll with a shape that is supposed to resemble the Bamboo that was on Nezuko’s mouth. “Supposed” is the keyword because it does not even remotely look like bamboo. In fact, it looks more like, well, a man’s sexual organ. I guess it really is execution went wrong?

Don’t accuse me of overthinking or I have a dirty mind. Just look at this thing and tell me that this “food” is not more suited for sale at the Kanamaran Matsuri aka Tokyo’s Penis Festival:

Anyhoo, in case anyone has doubt… Demon Slayer X Asakusa Nezuko Kamado’s Bamboo Tube Meat Roll is actually for sale for 800 yen (about US$7.30).

It is available, along with other food and collaborative merchandise from Asakusa View Hotel from July 16 through to September 26, 2021.
