Ducati is better known for motorcycles, be they sports bikes or scramblers, but every once in a while, the Italian marque challenges itself with other modes of transport. Bicycles are one such challenge, and it has already produced electric bicycles and folding pedal-assisted bicycles. Now, it is back with a completely new cycling range developed with Gruppo Zecchetto, covering road, gravel, and e-MTB riding.
Leading the human-powered side is the Made-in-Italy Monoscocca road bike. Its carbon-fiber monocoque frame was shaped with aerodynamics, stiffness, and comfort in mind. The Monoscocca R uses a Shimano Ultegra Di2 drivetrain and Vision SC 45 wheels, while the flagship RR steps up to Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 hardware and Vision Metron 45 RS wheels, achieving a claimed weight of 7.18 kg (15.8 lbs) without pedals.
When the tarmac ends, the 8.2 kg (18.1 lbs) GraviaX R carries on with a carbon monocoque frame, SRAM Force XPLR AXS drivetrain, Ducati carbon wheels, and clearance for tires up to 50 mm (2 in) wide. It is also ready for bikepacking and multi-day adventures.
Electric assistance comes from the carbon-fiber DM-160 R and DM-170 RR. Both use an Avinox M2S motor producing up to 1,300 W and 130 Nm (96 lb-ft), or 150 Nm (111 lb-ft) in Boost mode. An 800 Wh battery, GPS, eSIM connectivity, and adjustable suspension geometry are standard.
The DM-160 R favors all-round trail performance, while the DM-170 RR gets greater suspension travel, Öhlins hardware, and mixed-size wheels. No motorcycle license is required, but strong legs remain highly recommended. A strong bank account is also a must, as you will find out next.
As for pricing, the Monoscocca R and RR cost €8,590 (around US$9,960) and €12,990 (US$15,060), respectively, while the GraviaX R commands €5,990 (US$6,940). The DM-160 R is €7,990 (US$9,260), and the DM-170 RR is €9,490 (US$11,000). Monoscocca and GraviaX framesets are also available for €4,990 (US$5,780) and €2,790 (US$3,230), respectively.
