Behold The World’s First Ever Vertical Tri-folding Phone!

Infinix Zero Series Mini Tri-Fold Concept

Huawei’s Mate XT realized the dream of owning a relatively compact, candy bar phone with the screen real estate of a small tablet. Now, if upon seeing that, it triggers your wish for a smaller version, i.e., a regular candy bar that folds down into a compact, clamshell phone… well, your wish may have just come true. Infinix has taken that idea and cranked it up a notch with the ZERO Series Mini Tri-Fold Concept, a device that bends the rules of foldables.

Unveiled at MWC 2025, this bold new concept is exactly what it sounds like: a tri-folding vertical phone. That means it can switch between multiple modes, transforming from a standard smartphone to a hands-free display for workouts or entertainment, or even a compact camera that you can mount for action shots. The secret sauce here is the dual hinges that let it fold in on itself, creating a device that adapts to your lifestyle.

More Than Just Another Foldable

Unlike regular foldables that simply expand, the Mini Tri-Fold is built for multiform use. Unfold it, and it’s a full-sized smartphone. Fold it once, and it stands upright for hands-free calls, navigation, or video playback. With its strap accessory, it mounts onto gym equipment, handlebars, or even a backpack, making it a perfect companion for workouts, cycling, or travel.

The outward-folding design also introduces a dual-screen experience, making it ideal for real-time multilingual conversations. It even doubles as a high-performance camera system, using the main camera for pro-level shots while giving you a premium selfie screen for perfect framing.

Compact, Stylish, and Ready for the Future

Folded down, the Mini Tri-Fold becomes a sleek, single-handed smartphone that fits comfortably in your pocket. It’s lightweight, stylish, and more than just another foldable—it’s a glimpse into the future, where your phone isn’t just bigger, but smarter in every way.

Pricing and Availability

It looks like the Infinix Zero Series Mini Tri-Fold Concept will remain a concept for now. My guess is that Infinix is taking the opportunity at MWC to gauge the interest and response from the market. If you ask me, I am inclined to think it has a bigger market than the Huawei Mate XT. But I could be wrong. Of course, consumers may be skeptical of the durability. After all, it now has an added point of failure.
