If your pockets already sound like a drawer full of loose change, tools, and regrets, Keyport thinks it can help. Or at least make the chaos more intentional. Meet the Keyport Versa58 Modular Pocket Carry System, which Keyport is calling the most versatile pocket carry system it has ever made. Bold claim, sure, but hear them out.
The idea behind Versa58 is simple in a very nerdy way. Take the beloved 58 mm Swiss Army Knife format, the one people have been modding, tinkering with, and obsessing over for decades, and turn it into a modular platform. Not a fixed tool. Not a one-and-done gadget. A system. Versa58 uses fidget-friendly magnetic plates that let you build, swap, and reconfigure tools in seconds, whether you want a standalone mini tool, a keychain setup, or something that snaps neatly onto a 58 mm SAK.
Yes, it works with 58 mm Swiss Army Knives that use plastic Cellidor scales. No drilling. No glue. No permanent mods. Everything is reversible, which should calm anyone who treats their Victorinox like a family heirloom. Keyport is careful to point out it is not affiliated with Victorinox, but the compatibility is very much the point.
At launch, Versa58 supports two ecosystems. One is a standalone modular mini tool built using the MagMount system, which relies on tuned neodymium magnets for secure, properly aligned connections. These can live on keychains, desks, travel kits, or even stick to metal surfaces for hands-free use. The other ecosystem is full SAK integration, where Versa58 replaces the original scales while keeping the knife intact.
First-wave modules include a USB-C rechargeable Pocket Flare mini flashlight, a mini pen in aluminum or grade 5 titanium using a German Troika refill, USB-C flash drives in 64 GB and 256 GB options, modular V and Clip scales, and the MagMount connector itself.
Versa58 launched on Kickstarter on January 20, 2026, with shipping expected to start in August 2026. Prices start at 45 USD for the origin bundle – AL (Early Bird) and run up to a grand 112 USD for the Apex Bundle – TI (Campaign Special). Last check, the campaign has met its funding, and so, it is a go. As it stands, it has pooled almost 70K in funding from nearly 600 backers.
