As if it he hasn’t blown our mind enough with the incredibly detailed 6,000+ pieces LEGO Concorde Jet, BigPlanes has served up yet another LEGO god-level creation: LEGO Emirates Airbus A380 Superjumbo. And holy sh*t… this LEGO airplane model is enormous!
Around 40,000 LEGO elements were used to create this super accurate-looking, 90 lbs (41 kilograms) Airbus A380 double decker passenger jet that stretches 6 feet (1.8 meters) long and has a wingspan of 7 feet (2.1 meters).
Even more amazing was, BigPlanes did it without the use of glue, metal support beams, and any other form of support. Nada. Nothing. This build is purely LEGO bricks.
The size is not the only thing that leaves us in awe; it has some interesting gimmicks that impress too and these include spinning jet engines, each powered by LEGO Power Functions motors, and movable wing flaps that are powered by a single LEGO Power Up XL motor on each wing.
I may be biased here. I have always fascinated by wing flaps and so, with this feature, BigPlanes’ LEGO Emirates Airbus A380 Superjumbo really had me go ga-ga.
With the humongous size, it gave BigPlanes the freedom to recreate the interior of one of the world’s most luxurious passenger interior, including Emirates’ famed in-flight lounge and over-the-top opulent first-class suites. Absolutely amazing.
