The LEGO Group is clearly determined to let Formula 1 fans fill their shelves with every car on the grid. Joining the growing stable of 1:8-scale race cars is the new LEGO Technic Aston Martin Aramco AMR25 F1 Car (42240), giving fans of the British racing team a chance to park Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll’s challenger in brick-built form.
Like its counterparts from McLaren, Ferrari, and Oracle Red Bull Racing, the AMR25 is not merely a display piece. With 1,547 elements, the set packs in plenty of working mechanical features inspired by the real car. Builders can assemble the front and rear push-rod suspension, functional steering system, working differential, and a 2-speed gearbox that drives a detailed V6 engine complete with a simulated electric motor.
One particularly cool feature is the functioning DRS. Just like on the real Formula 1 machine, selecting the higher gear activates the Drag Reduction System, raising the rear wing. It is a neat touch that helps bring a little race-day engineering to the display shelf.
Once completed, the model measures over 61 cm (24 inches) long, 26 cm (10 inches) wide, and 13 cm (5.5 inches) high. The finished result is every bit the imposing display piece one would expect from a modern 1:8-scale LEGO Technic supercar—or in this case, super race car.
Whether you support Aston Martin Aramco or simply enjoy building mechanically detailed LEGO Technic models, the AMR25 delivers the sort of engineering-focused experience that has become a hallmark of the series. Besides, if you already have the LEGO Technic McLaren MCL39 F1 Car (42228), Ferrari SF-24 F1 Car (42207), or Oracle Red Bull Racing RB20 F1 Car on display, leaving the Aston Martin out of the paddock would feel a little unfair.
The LEGO Technic Aston Martin Aramco AMR25 F1 Car (42240) is available for pre-order now for US$229.99, with shipping beginning on July 01, 2026.
