LEGO Turns Ducati’s Desmo450 MX Dirt Bike Into a 457-Piece Technic Set

LEGO Technic Ducati Desmo450 MX Factory Motorcycle (42238)

Ducati did not get serious about off-roading until 2021. As a reminder that it isn’t just about superbikes and adventure-touring bikes, it has partnered with LEGO to Technic-ize its boldest entry into the dirt world yet: the Ducati Desmo450 MX Factory—so everyone, including kids as young as 10, can have a piece—or 457 pieces, in this instance—of this beautiful off-roader without breaking the bank.

OK, maybe the little ones may have to break their piggy banks. Awww… 🥹 but anyways, so yes, another LEGO Technic Ducati is joining 2025’s Ducati Panigale V4 S (42202) and 2020’s Ducati Panigale V4 R (42107). Folks, meet the LEGO Technic Ducati Desmo450 MX Factory Motorcycle (42238).

Being a LEGO Technic model means it goes beyond a display piece. Besides admiring this incredibly detailed model, you can steer the handlebar, watch the cylinder engine come to life as it’s driven by the chain from the rear axle, and test the front and rear suspension. Did we also mention that it has a two-speed gearbox? As with the Ducati models before it, it also features a moving piston engine. Like its predecessors, it comes with a Technic display stand, so it can sit proudly on your shelf once you’re done tinkering with it.

When completed, the finished model measures 30 cm (11.5 inches) long, 17 cm (6.5 inches) high, and 11 cm (4 inches) wide. The LEGO Technic Ducati Desmo450 MX Factory Motorcycle (42238) drops on August 1, 2026, for US$49.99.
