There exists a Metal Gear Solid fan base that can never get enough of this awesome game. I was one of them, until the whole espionage thing got a little more complicated than a nuclear conspiracy. But never mind about me. If you are a superfan who needs to have it all as far as MGS goes, then you will not want to miss the Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater – Original Video Game Soundtrack 4XLP.
That’s right. Yet another LP from this iconic franchise created by the legendary pioneering video game auteur Hideo Kojima. This is, as the product name suggests, straight off the latest Metal Gear Solid video game, Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater, released last year.
For the uninitiated, Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater is a remake of the 2004 classic Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, complete with updated graphics and 3D audio. The story remains the same, which means plenty of jungle crawling, tactical espionage, and a plot that might require a conspiracy board to keep track of.
The soundtrack comes pressed on four 140-gram vinyl records, spanning eight sides of music from Snake’s legendary mission. From the iconic Snake Eater theme to battle music, boss encounters, and even tracks from the Ape Escape and Bomberman crossover content, there is enough music here to make your living room feel like enemy territory. Not sure if these music features the iconic alert sound effect, though.
The collection comes housed in a slipcase featuring original artwork by Grzegorz Domaradzki, better known as GABZ. The music has been mastered for vinyl by Darren Page, while the records spin at 33⅓ RPM.
The Mondo-exclusive colored vinyl edition is limited to just 1,400 copies, so this is one mission where procrastination might cost you dearly.
The Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater – Original Video Game Soundtrack 4XLP is available through Mondo for US$110.
