If you are the type who needs music to coax you to sleep, you probably do one of two things: put up with your lousy phone speaker or have a separate speaker on the bedside table. MORROR ART has a third option: make the bedside table the speaker. Called Cabinet S1, it combines both into one piece of furniture, leaving you with one fewer object—and its accompanying cable—to accommodate beside the bed, and doing so while looking absolutely sleek.
Measuring 45 x 41 x 56 cm (17.7 x 16.1 x 22 inches), the S1 has a stereo speaker system built into its upper section. It plays music, white noise, and meditation tracks, with audio tuned to keep softer sounds clear and relaxing. Furniture has begun telling you to calm down.
The S1 [CH] also offers adjustable ambient lighting, a motion-activated floor light for midnight wandering, and a gradual light-and-sound alarm that attempts to wake you without immediately ruining your opinion of mornings. MORROR ART refers to this as a “scientific wake-up program.”
There are two drawers, one of which is protected by a fingerprint lock integrated into the volume knob. The top supports wireless phone charging, while USB, USB-C, and power outlets live at the rear. Damn. This sure sounds like a piece of furniture fit for sci-fi flicks like Fifth Element. Seriously, Korben Dallas could use one.
Of course, integrating audio into bedside furniture is not entirely revolutionary. Hotels and even motels have long paired their bedside tables with built-in radios. The Cabinet S1 is what happens when that old arrangement checks out, gets a design degree, and returns with white noise, wireless charging, fingerprint security, and an iF Design Award.
MORROR ART introduced the S1 in China in 2024, while its iF listing records a 2025 launch. It later won the 2026 iF Design Award under the wonderfully search-resistant name “Cabinet S1.”
