It is said that doing household chores can be therapeutic. It can help to improve our mental and physical health, and also serves as a stress reliever. But what about looking at people doing the chores? I don’t know. But if it is therapeutic, then this book from Muji may come in handy.
OK, maybe not the physical health part unless you use the hefty 504-page book as a weight for your fitness routine. Muji has a photo book that contains 504 pages of people cleaning things, aptly called, well, Cleaning.
Not all pages contain a photo or photos of people cleaning things. The book also offers inside into the tools used for cleaning and even digs into the history of some of the tools.
Apparently, before the pandemic, Muji had folks going around the world photographing scenes in which people were in the act of cleaning. When I said “act” it means cleaning of all kinds, including washing one’s feet. Now, it wouldn’t be called Cleaning if it does involve someone’s foot at some point, would it?
This intriguing photo literature is not available stateside yet. It is currently being sold in Muji Japan for 2,750 yen (about 20 bucks today).
