Nissan GT-R NFT Auctioned Off For $2.85 Million CAD, Comes With An Actual Special Edition GT-R

Nissan GT-R NFT by Nissan Canada

Initially, we never intend to cover this news. However, clickbait titles by big online publishers have driven us to do so and so, here we are, putting it out there, right in the title.

Yes. It is true that a digital non-fungible token of a Nissan GT-R was auctioned off for a whopping 2.85 million Canadian money (works to be around US$2.29 million), but it was not just for the NFT; included in the auction are the keys to the new Nissan GT-R NISMO Special Edition in an exclusive Stealth Grey exterior.

At $2.3 million, it is probably 10 times more expensive than the soon-to-be-available GT-R NISMO Special Edition, but at least it does come with both the certified, digital creation and a physical car which the winner of the auction can drive when it arrives in Canada this Fall.

Anyways, the auction was hosted by RubiX Network, a premium NFT marketplace, and it was held between October 5 and October 7, with a reserve price of 280,000 CAD.

With regards to the NFT GT-R, the somewhat psychedelic digital supercar was designed by Canadian artist Alex McLeod.

The actual car that came with the auction.

So, there you have it. A digital NFT Nissan GT-R that came with an actual car, a Nissan GT-R NISMO Special Edition, was sold for 2.85 million Canadian dollars and NOT just an NFT.
