The Official JR East Train Simulator Controller: For When You Take Train Sim WAY Too Seriously

Official JR East Train Simulator Controller

Steering wheels for racing games and flight sticks for flight sims are normal, but did you know there’s a train simulator controller too? And not just any controller, though—this is the official JR East Train Simulator Master Controller Unit, built for maximum train-driving realism.

Designed to work with JR East’s Train Simulator on Steam, this heavy-duty setup recreates the feel of a real train cockpit. It’s built from aluminum and steel, weighs 21 kg (46 lbs), and is 95 cm (37 in) wide, meaning you’re going to need serious desk space—or maybe a dedicated train room?

For those who demand peak immersion, you can upgrade to the full setup:

🚆 The Master Controller Unit alone: ¥2.5 million (~$16,700)

🚆 Add an instrument panel monitor: ¥3 million (~$20,000)

🚆 Go all-in with a full train driver’s console: ¥3.8 million (~$25,300)

Yes, this costs more than an actual used car, but can a used car let you simulate a Tokyo-to-Sendai express run? Exactly.

Orders are open now via JRE Mall, but keep in mind this is made to order—so expect a 3–4 month wait before you can live out your train conductor dreams at home. Oh, also, I believe it is available in Japan. Bummer! (not that I have so feverish about trains that I may buy one).
