The Nintendo Game Boy was the hottest thing in its day. It kind of still is today. Meanwhile, this wannabe you see here – called Retro Gamer Electric Lighter by Rolls Plasma Lighter – is equally hot but not for the same reasons. It is literally hot because it is, well, an electric arc lighter.
While it cannot let you play games like the darling gadget of the late 80s/early 90s, it can make a fire that will make the Neanderthal cavemen go totally ga-ga. And it can do so (set fire) even in the windest city thanks to the use of electric arc to light things up as opposed to open flame.
It is outfitted with a 280 mAh battery that is good for a week of regular use per charge. It recharges in 1.5 hours via a built-in USB micro B port.
But let’s be honest, the real highlight is of course the Game Boy graphic. The ability to set things on fire is just a bonus. Speaking of setting things on fire, this dual arc lighter makes it easier even for the most awkward angle – thanks to the electrodes that are pointed upward and at an angle.
Rounding the feature list is a durable zinc-alloy enclosure (with the lovely Game Boy likeness print, of course), an ignition button with a light-up feature, and an LED battery indicator light at the side.
