Rogbid must have been following the news on the heat waves sweeping across much of the world this year. It, too, seems to have felt the heat because it simply couldn’t resist launching yet another handheld fan. Not going to lie, the new Rogbid Breeze not only looks kinda sleek but also has plenty going for it under the hood.
For starters, it is armed with semiconductor cooling—which is one of its six “redefining” innovative technologies. This technology basically uses semiconductors to cool the air it blows. It is kind of like an AC, though obviously it will not be as chilly. But in the kind of heat the world is experiencing right now, dropping the air temperature by a couple of degrees should be very much welcomed.
And then there’s the 199-level stepless fan speed, which the brand calls “infinite speed airflow control,” a dual-cell 6,000 mAh battery, a high-speed turbo motor, and a built-in high-brightness LED light with multiple modes.
To be honest, how the semiconductor cooling works in this device is rather murky. I wanted to regurgitate the marketing words, but I cannot, in good conscience, do that if I don’t think I know exactly how it works.
Anyhoo, this feature is not always on. It can be activated at the touch of a button. Rogbid even goes as far as to say you can “enjoy refreshing, direct skin-contact cooling” without relying on airflow alone. Yes, it literally suggests placing the cool metal surface against your skin to help relieve the heat. There’s even a picture showing that.
The Breeze is powered by a proprietary 13,000 RPM high-speed motor paired with a fan featuring seven widened CNC-machined blades and a 360° wide-angle airflow design to deliver what Rogbid calls “aviation-grade turbo airflow,” with wind speeds of up to 10 m/s. A digital display lets you keep track of the current fan speed as well as the battery status. Recharging is via USB Type-C with fast charging.
The fan unit has an adjustable 145° tilt, allowing you to use it as a desk fan. Multiple attachment points let you wear it around your neck, clip it to your backpack, and more. Rounding out the package is a premium aerospace-grade aluminum unibody construction.
The Rogbid Breeze Handheld Fan with Semiconductor Cooling and a 6,000 mAh battery is available now in a choice of Black or Moonlight Silver for US$39.99.
