if you think your lamp could do more than just lighting up the room, you are right because that’s exactly what the Sound of Light does. it is a speaker that is destined to live with your lamp and under its lampshade. Sound of Light ingeniously integrates the speaker system into your existing lamp socket. all you have to do is to screw the speakers into any light sockets and voila! you have instant speakers hideaway under the lamp shade.

employing Texas Instruments’s 2.4 GHz Purepath Digital Signal Transmitter, it is able to set up wireless link between an audio source such as your iPhone, tablet and connects to up to four speakers within a 300 ft (91 meters) range. using the Sound of Light multi-function remote, users can control the volume, power functions as well as the lighting. integration with your existing lamp also brings about a wire-free environment as the Sound of Light is powered by the lamp socket and plus it can still accept any standard bulbs.

no word on the pricing at this point in time but what we do know is that the Sound of Light is slated for June 2011 release. i love the idea but the thing is, i do not have a lamp of any sort to make use of it. however, it will be perfect for those who has a series of lamps in their home.
