Zero Motorcycles’ New Sports Electric Bike Is A 110 HP Beauty With 128-Mile Combined Range

Zero SR/S Sports Electric Motorcycle

Just like 4-wheeled electric vehicles, electric bike‘s design is normalizing. They are looking pretty much like it’s fossil fuel powered counterparts. In other words, nothing radical. Case in point, the new SR/S electric motorcycle by Zero Motorcycles. Don’t get me wrong, SR/S is a gorgeous bike.

It is sleek, somewhat futuristic, but not radical like, say, Curtiss, or some examples we have seen at the start of this whole electric revolution.

Under the fairings is an electric drive that puts out an equivalent of 110 horses and 140 lb-ft (190 Nm) of torque. The electric motor is paired to a clutchless direct drive that affords it with a sustained top speed of 110 mph (177 km/h). A 12.6 kWh battery system provides up to 128 miles (198 km/h) of city/highway range.

Other features include Bosch motorcycle stability system, Showa suspension, regenerative deceleration, supports rapid charging, Bosch braking system, and 17-inch wheels wrapped in Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tires.

The SR/S is no doubt a performance electric bike which, not surprising, comes with a rather hefty sticker. We are talking upwards of $19,995. Ouch.
