Hybrid Drivetrain Of 2022 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance Offers A Monstrous Torque

2022 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance

For petrol heads, it is hard to let go of the good’ol gas-powered engine and move on to the obvious future of motoring: electric drive. But here’s a ride that will make acclimatization to the inevitable future easier: the 2022 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance.

The 2022 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance is the first performance hybrid from MercedesAMG and it is no concept; it is entering series production.

Drawing on technologies from Formula 1, the 2022 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance marries a 4.0L V8 Biturbo engine with an electric motor to generate a total output of 843 horsepower (620 kW) and turns out a mind-bending 1,400 Nm (1,033 lb-ft) of torque.

The result is a somewhat eco-conscious performance sedan that rockets from naught to 100 (0-62 mph) in just 2.9 seconds.

The gas engine drives the front while the permanently excited synchronous electric motor is responsible for the rear. The two worked together to offer an all-wheel-drive system.

The 150 kW (204 HP) electric motor, which is paired with AMG high-performance battery, is capable of 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) electric range.

Beyond the impressive numbers, you can expect the best in luxury and creature comfort Mercedes-AMG has to offer, including an MBUZ multimedia system with hybrid-specific displays, AMG Performance steering wheel in a twin-spoke design, AMG RIDE CONTROL+ suspension, and more.

The 2022 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance is slated to hit the market later this year for yet-to-be-announced pricing. In the meantime, you can learn more about this delightful ride HERE.
