Meet The First Off-Roader From Mercedes-Maybach, G 650 Landaulet

Folks, this is the Mercedes-Maybach G 650 Landaulet, the first off-roader from Mercedes-Maybach sub-brand and it looks, well, pretty much like the G-class. If you are into off-roaders and want all the luxury you can on a car while feeling the rush of air, then this is it. Its Mercedes-AMG V12 Biturbo motor, outputting 630 horses and 738 lb-ft (1,000 Nm) of torque, give it more than enough grunt to take on the beaten trails while Mercedes’ 4WD technology along with portable axles paired to 22-inch 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels wrapped in 325/55 R 22 tires, affords it with ample ground clearance to overcome extreme obstacles. Mercedes-Benz And Garia Wants To Make Golf Cart Look More Like A Car

With the exception of a small number, golf cart generally looks the same. You know, the same, boring boxy cart with an impossibly straight bench seat for two, has room for two full-size golf bags around the back, and perhaps, a couple of cup holders. Already, that sounds beyond boring, doesn’t it? However, that may change, if Mercedes-Benz and Danish golf cart maker Garia have their way. And the fairway-going vehicle that’s going to bring about the change would be the Mercedes-Benz Style Edition Garia Golf Car which it creators billed as “a real sports car.” Continue reading Mercedes-Benz And Garia Wants To Make Golf Cart Look More Like A Car

Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6: Daimler’s Bold Look At The Future Of Luxury Car

At nearly 20 feet long, the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 is a behemoth amongst the coupes known to man and it is certainly Daimler’s bold, if not the boldest, vision of the future of luxury car which will be driven by a 550 kW (750 HP) electric drive, offering a range of no less than 500 kilometers (310 miles). Not a lot of technical details were disclosed at this point, but I guess Daimler don’t really have to, because the look has already won us many times over. The thing about Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 is, it may be bold like most concepts, but it has a design that’s totally plausible, though we can’t speak for the visionary specs laid out in the official press text. This is Concept IAA, Mercedes-Benz’s Super Sexy Real-life Transformers Car

While Japanese inventors are taking Transformers in a literal sense, German luxury car maker, Mercedes-Benz, has other ideas about a transforming car, which the company unveiled at the on-going Frankfurt Motor Show. Though, don’t expect the Concept IAA, which is short for Intelligent Aerodynamic Automobile, to take on an organic robot form, but it will however, transform from a sexy four-door coupe to a (still sexy) highly aerodynamic vehicle with an astounding drag coefficient of just 0.19. Like the deploying spoilers found on some luxury sports car such as the Bugatti, Mercedes-Benz’s Concept IAA automatically executes the transformation, which sees the vehicle’s fastback style silhouette being altered on-the-fly to increase aerodynamic efficiency, upon reaching a set speed and in this instance, it’s 80 km/h (50 mph). Mercedes-Benz GLC Compact Utility Vehicle Unveiled, Four Models to be Offered at Launch

Mercedes-Benz may say that the new GLC CUV follows the “clear and sensual” design language of the GLC Coupe showcar, but we see not much of the similarity. Do not get us wrong. The newly announced GLC compact utility vehicle is pretty and definitely way better than the GLK it is replacing. In fact, we think it has lines that sit between the GLK and the alluring showcar, which is not all that bad. Aesthetically, it has the characteristic SUV front with a short, succinct overhang, upright, three-dimensional radiator grille with a twin louvre and of course, the tri-pointed star branding. While the rest of the body is best described by the marque itself: Continue reading Mercedes-Benz GLC Compact Utility Vehicle Unveiled, Four Models to be Offered at Launch

Mercedes-Benz Goes Head-to-Head with Tesla with its Own Home Battery

Still brooding over the fact that you weren’t fast enough and missed out on Tesla’s Powerwall Home Battery? Well, it turns out, Tesla isn’t in the home battery game alone. Mercedes-Benz is in it too and the German luxury car maker is calling it “Private Energy Storage Plant.” Don’t be scare off by the word “plant” and the very ‘industrial’ product name in general, because it is really meant for home use, or businesses if you daisy chain them up. Each module packs a modest 2.5 kWh of electricity, pulled from the grid or your home’s existing solar panels. Up to eight can be hooked up together to give you a total of 20 kWh. Just in case you think the Daimler AG company hopped onboard this potentially growing market because some else did, well, not quite.
