The artiste who left us far too soon, Whitney Houston, has now been immortalized as a doll. Not just any doll, but a Barbie doll, joining crooning legends like Stevie Nicks, Kylie Minogue, Cher, and more.
Whitney Houston was no ordinary performer. She was arguably one of the most iconic and influential megastars in pop culture history. The incredible artist, nicknamed “The Voice,” is represented by a doll featuring a face sculpt in the likeness of the vocal powerhouse, paired with an articulated original body type.
Designed by Carlyle Nuera, the doll captures the iconic look featured in her record-breaking “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)” music video. The Whitney Houston doll is garbed in a body-hugging lilac tank dress paired with bold, colorful earrings and pumps, while lush locks with ’80s-style curls complete the look. She is supplied with a microphone and mic stand.
As before, most—if not all—Barbie dolls cannot stand properly on their own. Even if they do, it takes only a slight tremor to knock them over. As such, she comes with a doll stand for more secure posing. But with such beautiful packaging by Priscila Bara, you will probably want to keep her in her plastic prison.
Rounding out the doll is a Certificate of Authenticity, so you can prove she is a legit Barbie doll—in case knockoffs flood the market.
The Barbie Signature Whitney Houston Doll is available for pre-order for 60 bucks as we speak, with shipping on or before September 11, 2026. Interestingly, it appears to be available already at Target, and someone ain’t happy about the doll because it “looks nothing like Whitney.”
Well, about that… I think we need to lower our expectations when it comes to dolls, Barbie or not. It is, after all, not a Hot Toys figure that costs several times more.
