Headphones have become fashion accessories, whether audio purists like it or not. And just like your wardrobe, you may want to switch things up occasionally. Unfortunately, buying another pair of headphones just because you fancy a different color isn’t exactly economical. Beats has a solution, and it involves swapping cushions. Meet the Beats 360, the company’s first customizable over-ear headphones.
Unlike regular headphones, the Beats 360 lets you swap both the ear cushions and headband cushion. The interchangeable Cushion Kits come in two materials: breathable Performance Knit for workouts and UltraPlush engineered leather for everyday comfort. To some extent, this could be considered a modular headphone like AIAIAI? Maybe?
The headphones themselves are available in Black, Cloud, Pink, and Sky, while the Performance Knit cushions add Navy and Volt to the mix. So, you can mix and match colors instead of committing to one look for the rest of your headphones’ life.
Of course, Beats hasn’t forgotten that headphones are supposed to play music.
Underneath the customizable exterior is an all-new acoustic system featuring custom drivers with three-layer diaphragms and dual neodymium magnets. Beats also claims up to 1.75 times better noise cancellation than the Studio Pro, along with Transparency mode, Adaptive EQ, and Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking.
Other highlights include Bluetooth 5.3, IPX4 sweat and water resistance, nine microphones, and up to 32 hours of battery life. A five-minute USB-C charge provides up to an hour of playback.
There’s also seamless integration with Apple and Android devices, including convenient pairing, device switching, and location-finding features. The fold-flat design comes with a woven carrying case.
To demonstrate the customization possibilities, Beats enlisted Kendall Jenner for a campaign in which she encounters several versions of herself wearing different Beats 360 combinations. This is one way of showing that you don’t need multiple personalities to justify buying more cushions.
The Beats 360 has been available since September 24, 2026, priced at US$349.99. Additional Cushion Kits cost US$49.99 each.
