BRABUS may be best known for turning already powerful cars into outrageously powerful machines, but its appetite for performance extends well beyond the road. We’ve seen its take on luxury watercraft, from the Ultima 55 catamaran to the Shadow 38 range and the monstrous Shadow 1200—just to name a few. Now, the German powerhouse is taking things down a few sizes with something you can actually stand on.
Folks, meet the BRABUS x Awake SHADOW CARVE, a limited-edition electric hydrofoil surfboard, or eFoil, that lets you glide above the water without needing a wave to catch.
Based on the Awake VINGA Carve platform, this rather sleek contraption packs an 8.2 kW electric drivetrain, an 80 cm (31.5-inch) reinforced mast, and BRABUS-branded Cloud Wings. Together, they allow the board to reach speeds of up to 45 km/h (28 mph), while its hydrofoil design lifts the hull above the water to reduce drag.
Not quite the 900 hp insanity we’re accustomed to from BRABUS, but remember, you’re standing on this thing.
Power comes from Awake‘s extended-range Flex Battery XR, delivering up to 120 minutes of riding under optimal conditions. The Click-to-Ride system uses wireless communication between the battery, drivetrain, and controller to simplify setup.
Speaking of controls, riders get an exclusive BRABUS Hand Controller 4 (HC4), complete with a dedicated BRABUS Performance Mode for a more spirited experience.
Naturally, BRABUS couldn’t resist giving the board its signature aesthetic treatment. There’s exposed carbon fiber, contrasting red accents across the hull and mast, and a high-grip deckpad featuring the familiar BRABUS Triangle pattern.
But perhaps its most striking feature is the integrated 2,000-lumen red LED lighting system. It illuminates the water beneath the board, creating a glowing red carpet as you cruise above the surface at dusk. Not exactly discreet, but discretion was never BRABUS’s strongest selling point.
The SHADOW CARVE measures 157 × 70 × 17 cm (61.8 × 27.6 × 6.7 inches), has a volume of 77 liters, and weighs approximately 34 kg (75 lbs.), including the battery.
Only 77 individually numbered examples will be produced worldwide, each bearing a special “One of 77” emblem.
The BRABUS x Awake SHADOW CARVE is available through the official BRABUS store, with European pricing listed at €20,800 (about US$23,363).
