BRABUS BODO Cabriolet
Limited to 77 examples, the BRABUS BODO Cabriolet combines a 1,000 hp V12, carbon-fiber coachwork, four seats, and a 360 km/h top speed with open-air motoring.

When we last checked in with the BRABUS BODO Gran Turismo Coupe, it had fulfilled late founder Bodo Buschmann’s dream of creating a grand tourer entirely in the spirit of BRABUS. It turns out that dream also included removing the roof.

The new BRABUS BODO Cabriolet carries the same 2+2 configuration, coachbuilt carbon-fiber body, and wonderfully unreasonable performance into open-air motoring. It will be produced as a separate limited series of 77 cars, so coupe owners cannot simply claim that somebody took a power saw to theirs.

Shown here in Silk Stone, the Cabriolet pairs its carbon body with a specially developed black-and-gray Jacquard soft top. An inverted “77” motif is woven directly into the structural fabric rather than printed on, referencing 1977, the year BRABUS was founded. The same number appears beneath the rear window. Side track a little here. Is it just me who feels the Silk Stone color gives this car the Maybach vibe? 🤔

Power comes from the familiar hand-built 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12, producing 1,000 hp at 6,400 rpm and an electronically limited 1,200 Nm (885 lb-ft) of torque. An eight-speed automatic sends everything to the rear wheels through an electronically controlled differential capable of 100% locking.

The BODO Cabriolet reaches 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.0 seconds, 200 km/h (124 mph) in 8.5 seconds, and 300 km/h (186 mph) in 23.9 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 360 km/h (224 mph), at which point open-top driving becomes a thorough examination of how securely your hair is attached.

Active aerodynamics include a multi-stage carbon-fiber rear spoiler that turns vertical under hard braking above 140 km/h (87 mph) to serve as an air brake. Meanwhile, 22-inch Monoblock Z-GT forged wheels wear specially developed Pirelli P Zero tires, and a four-wheel lift system raises the car by around 25 mm (1 inch) when expensive carbon fiber encounters an unfriendly driveway.

Inside, Silk Stone leather, matching carbon trim, Shell-pattern quilting, illuminated vents, and four proper seats form the BRABUS Masterpiece cabin. A color-matched Weekender bag and blockchain-based Digital Product Passport are included.

Pricing starts at €1,077,000 before VAT, or around US$1.25 million. The roof may be gone, but the price remains safely overhead.
