Godzilla Minus Zero Official IMAX Trailer Reveals a New Threat

Godzilla Minus Zero Official 1.43:1 Trailer

Apparently, the architect behind Godzilla Minus One, Takashi Yamazaki, was already prepping for a sequel even before the first movie hit theaters. Even so, three years in the making is an impressively tight turnaround, especially when you consider that the teaser for Godzilla Minus Zero dropped less than three years later and that the team has continued to feed fans new material, including a behind-the-scenes look, throughout that time.

And the team isn’t letting up its pace. It recently dropped an official trailer reiterating an important message: it is the first Japanese production filmed for IMAX. The trailer made sure you knew that with the title Godzilla Minus Zero Official 1.43:1 Trailer | Filmed For IMAX.

Anyhoo, if spoilers kill you, I suggest you turn around and read other stuff on this blog. I watched it several times, and I think it contains some major spoilers if you look hard enough. Hint: something to do with anti-gravity *wink*. For the benefit of those who aren’t aware of the plot or need a recap, here’s what Minus Zero is about:

“War reduced Japan to zero, and Godzilla plunged it into minus. Two years have passed since then, and the country has faced agonizing struggles to achieve recovery and finally reclaim its daily life.

Just as humanity managed to cling to a hard-won peace, a new threat strikes, crushing hope in an instant.

There is no third time. Everything ends here.”

The film is written and directed by Takashi Yamazaki, who was also responsible for the VFX. Godzilla Minus Zero stars Ryunosuke Kamiki and Minami Hamabe as Koichi and Noriko Shikishima, along with Hidetaka Yoshioka, Yuki Yamada, Kuranosuke Sasaki, Sakura Ando, Miou Tanaka, and Min Tanaka as a new character, Kanji Murakami.

Godzilla Minus Zero opens in Japan through TOHO on November 3, 2026, followed by a wide North American theatrical and IMAX release through GKIDS on November 6, 2026. Keep going for the official teaser.
