I am fully aware that the new LEGO City Yellow Construction Excavator (60420) is not to scale with the previously featured LEGO City Yellow Mobile Construction Crane (60409) but damn, you got to admit that there’s something strangely alluring about brick-built construction equipment in yellow.
Released on June 01, the LEGO City Yellow Construction Excavator (60420) is already sold out on LEGO.com and is available as backorders to be delivered starting June 29, 2024. Recommended for ages 8 to whatever heck your age is now, this 633-piece construction vehicle set is as realistic looking as a brick-built excavator can get.
It features working “ground-gripping” tracks, an opening engine hood, an articulated boom and operator’s cab that rotate 360°, and comes supplied with 2 cordon barriers, and 3 construction worker minifigures (a driver, a worker, and an architect), plus a toy architectural blueprint, jackhammer and walkie-talkie. When completed, the brick-built excavator measures over 4.5 in. (12 cm) high, 12.5 in. (32 cm) long and 4 in. (11 cm) wide.
