Millions of people have watched and followed the British historical drama series Downton Abbey (ITV, 2010–2015), so its popularity should not be understated. But will fans drop 350 bucks on a LEGO set that recreates the iconic Highclere Castle? I don’t know.
Still, I am glad someone proposed the set, got the support it needed, and saw it become an actual LEGO set. To be honest, though, it would have been nice if Highclere Castle had been released as a LEGO Architecture set instead. Just saying…
Anyhoo, based on LEGO Ideas member BRO3’s submission, the LEGO Ideas Downton Abbey (21373) recreates the fictional Downton Abbey, which is portrayed by the real-life Highclere Castle in the series.
This stately pile comprises 4,711 pieces and opens up to reveal life both upstairs and downstairs. The removable upper level contains the grand dining room, main hall, and library, while beneath it are the kitchen, servants’ hall, and Mr. Carson’s office. There is even an early electric mixer, a period candlestick telephone, correctly arranged dining tables, and a servants’ bell board with a cheeky “LEGO room” label.
The set comes with 13 minifigures representing the Season 6 household. The Crawleys are joined by the Dowager Countess, Tom Branson, Mr. Carson, Mrs. Hughes, Mr. and Anna Bates, Thomas Barrow, Mrs. Patmore, and Daisy Parker. Each character has a double-sided face, while additional clothing pieces allow them to sit properly at the dining table. It would be terribly improper for a LEGO aristocrat to dine with stiff, unbendable attire.
When completed, the Abbey measures over 30 cm (12 in) tall, 44 cm (17.5 in) wide, and 16 cm (6.5 in) deep. A towering cedar tree completes the exterior, while hidden nods to fan designer Sebastian Veselka, a.k.a. BRO3, reward anyone who inspects the estate closely.
The LEGO Ideas Downton Abbey (21373) will open its doors to LEGO Insiders on October 1, 2026, before welcoming the general public on October 4. It commands a suitably aristocratic price of US$349.99. No inheritance or marriage into the Crawley family is included, unfortunately.
