MagCutor Super Tiny Magnetic Quick-release Cutter: Stop Using Your Keys To Open Boxes

MagCutor Super Tiny Magnetic Quick-release Cutter

Opening boxes with a key will be a thing of the past – thanks to this everyday carry called MagCutor. The name is actually pretty clever. It is a subtle hint of what it is: it is magnetic and it is a cutter. Or you could say it is magnetic and it is cute. It works too. But what it really is is a sleek and compact cutting tool with a keychain-friendly design (or it could be the keychain too).

So, yeah, MagCutor is a super tiny magnetic quick-release cutter designed for light-slicing jobs like unboxing packages. It uses powerful neodymium magnets to keep the knife edge safely tucked away in its cover. I know what you are thinking. What if you accidentally swipe it off the cover and hence easily get lost?

Well, I think perhaps it will not just get “swiped” off the cover because the magnet is super duper strong, and capable of holding up to 4 lbs (1.8 kilograms) of weight. And no, it will not just get swiped off the cover accidentally. At least not that easily. It would take some force to do so.

It is incredibly small. Is not much bigger than a grown person’s pinky (14 mm x 35 mm or 0.55 by 1.38 inches) and is super lightweight (19g/0.67oz for the titanium model or 14g/0.49oz for the aluminum version), letting you attached it to virtually anything such as a key and go with you anywhere without even the slightest burden.

It comes in a choice of a titanium or aluminum body and boasts a replaceable Grade 5 titanium blade for extended durability. You can sharpen the blade too if it turns dull.

Seriously, if there is one everyday carry to recommend for this year, I would totally recommend the MagCutor. You may learn more about the MagCutor Super Tiny Magnetic Quick-release Cutter on Kickstarter where you can also secure a unit for 20 quid or more (about US$25).
