It took six years, but the world’s favourite shark RPG is surfacing for another feeding frenzy. Maneater 2 has been announced, giving us another opportunity to eat our way up the food chain without anyone asking why a shark has an upgrade menu. If you enjoyed the first Maneater, clear your schedule. And the beach.
This time, you play a female bull shark trapped inside Neptune’s Kingdom, an invitation-only private-island theme park inspired by Ancient Rome, Las Vegas, and Anaheim. Basically, three places nobody thought needed combining, especially underwater.
Escape requires eating, exploring, and evolving through tropical, arctic, and volcanic biomes. Thanks to the park’s wildly irresponsible genetic experiments, the waters contain mutated creatures, including a crab reportedly the size of a G-Wagon. The shark can exploit the same science to unlock powerful mutations of her own. Why should wealthy parkgoers have exclusive rights to body hacking?
Chris Parnell returns as Trip Westhaven, providing commentary as you snack on influencers, media personalities, heavily armed security, submersibles, and evolved apex predators.
The first Maneater game built in Unreal Engine 5, Maneater 2 promises richer underwater environments, smarter creatures, and better lighting for all the blood you will spill. The game will swim onto PlayStation 5, PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store), Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 sometime in 2027. Meanwhile, here’s the announcement trailer:
