Mattel Celebrates 50 Years Of Space Oddity With A Super Cool David Bowie Barbie Doll

Barbie David Bowie Doll by Mattel

The many faces Mattel’s Barbie now expand to include the late English singer-songwriter and actor David Bowie. Marking the 50 years of Bowie’s hit song Space Oddity from his second studio album released in 1969, David Bowie, Mattel has introduced a David Bowie Barbie doll.

In this guise, phenomenal doll assumed the role as the famous British rock star, dressed in metallic Ziggy Stardust ‘space suit’ with red and blue stripes, flared shoulders and Bowie’s signature cherry-red platform boots. Other features include bold makeup of glam rock of the time, including the famous astral sphere forehead icon and fiery-red locks once sported by the artiste.

The Barbie David Bowie Doll by Mattel is a Gold Label doll, which means it will only be produced in limited quantities, and comes with a doll stand and Certificate of Authenticity. Furthermore, each doll comes packed in a specially designed packaging, featuring a collage of images from Bowie’s early career. Personally, I think it a must-have for fans of David Bowie and fans of rock ’n roll alike.

Barbie David Bowie Doll by Mattel can be had for $50 from Amazon.
