If you skipped out on the NECA Jaws Quint figure three years ago, congratulations—you now have a second chance. And a better one, because 50th anniversary. That’s right. Jaws turns 50, making us feel old and still irrationally afraid of open water. Thanks, Spielberg! Ugh. I was so traumatized as a kid that I even imagined Bruce the shark lurking in a 12-foot-deep swimming pool. But despite the deep-seated fear, I still love this movie, and now, NECA is making sure we can relive the terror in action figure form.
To celebrate half a century of the ocean horror classic, NECA is bringing us a 7-inch scale Ultimate Matt Hooper and Sam Quint action figure bundle. Hooper, played by Richard Dreyfuss, comes ready to study sharks—or get eaten—packed with multiple interchangeable heads, hands, and gloved hands. He’s got a scuba tank, duffel bag, fishing hook, and a shark dart, plus a cup and crushed cup for dramatic oceanographer moments. You can also swap between his denim jacket or sweater depending on whether he’s on the boat or having a breakdown.
Then there’s Quint, the shark-hunting, beer-crushing legend himself. He’s also rocking multiple interchangeable heads, hands, and arms, so you can display him in various levels of shark-induced frustration. Accessories include a rifle, a harpoon gun, a machete, and, of course, a can and crushed can—because drinking is essential when dealing with a 25-foot killer fish.
Both figures come in collector-friendly window box packaging and are sold separately but bundled together for the ultimate JAWS display. Other spec-sheet details include gloved hands for both figures, movie-accurate sculpting, and collector-level articulation. Expected to release in Q3 2025 for US$69.98, with pre-orders available now from NECA’s online store.
The 50th Anniversary Ultimate Matt Hooper and Sam Quint action figures are also available separately (US$34.99 each), which is a great option if you already own either. Then again, this Hooper is not the Shark Cage version, so you may want this, too. Anyhoo, the protagonist that lurks around the waters of Amity Island, Bruce, also has a 50th Anniversary Edition going for US$59.99. They are all available for pre-order on the NECA online store.
