Here Are Two Very Affordable Chromebooks From Lenovo Coming Your Way

Don’t be alarm by the “premium” Chromebooks to have surfaced in recent years because, there are still affordable ones. The Lenovo IdeaPad Duet Chromebook (aka Lenovo Chromebook Duet in N.A.) and Lenovo 13-inch IdeaPad Flex 5 Chromebook (aka Lenovo Chromebook Flex 5 in N.A.) are examples of affordable Chromebooks that will be arriving in May-June.

The IdeaPad Duet Chromebook is more of a Chrome OS-powered tablet that can function as a laptop with the detachable keyboard as opposed to the IdeaPad Flex 5, which is a convertible laptop.

IdeaPad Duet Chromebook gets a MediaTek Helio P60T chip, featuring ARM G72 MP3 800 MHz GPU, an octacore processor. Memory comes in the form of a 4 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64 or 128 GB internal storage. It has a 8 MP autofocus main snapper and a 2MP fixed focus front-facing camera.

It gets a 7,000 mAh battery good for up to 10 hours of video playback or very oddly, up to 8 hours of web browsing. So web browsing now is more intensive over video playback now? Weird.

At 2.97 lbs (1.35 kilograms), the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 Chromebook packs up to a 10th-generation Intel Core i5 processor, up to 128 GB PCIe SSD and 8 GB DDR4 of RAM under the hood.

It has a 13-inch FHD IPS touchscreen display with “intelligent built-in user-facing dual stereo speakers and it is the first Lenovo consumer Chromebook to support digital pen with integrated stylus. It is a convertible too, allowing it be use as regular laptop, as a tablet, or tent or stand mode.

Other key notables include 10 hours of battery life, Wi-Fi 6, a 720p camera, and a spill-resistant backlit keyboard.

The Lenovo 13-inch IdeaPad Flex 5 Chromebook will is slated to arrive in late June for $359 and up while the Lenovo IdeaPad Duet Chromebook is expected to ship earlier, starting in May, with a starting price of $279.99.
