ROG’s 20th Anniversary Handheld Comes With a 171-Inch Gaming Display

ROG XBOX Ally X20 Bundle

We briefly mentioned the ROG XBOX Ally X20 Bundle in our coverage of the ROG Edition 20 collection, but this anniversary handheld deserves a closer look of its own. After all, ASUS ROG wasn’t about to celebrate two decades of gaming excellence by leaving its handheld behind. And so here we are, touching on yet another reason for you to part with your hard-earned money.

At first glance, the ROG XBOX Ally X20 looks familiar, but the anniversary treatment quickly gives it away. The translucent black chassis reveals gold-accented internals beneath, perfectly matching the rest of the Edition 20 lineup. It is easily one of the most striking versions of the Ally yet.

Looks aside, the biggest upgrade is right up front. ASUS ROG has fitted the handheld with its first-ever 7.4-inch ROG Nebula HDR OLED display, bringing richer colors, deeper blacks, and up to 1,400 nits of peak brightness. The panel also supports a 120 Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, FreeSync Premium Pro, and an ultra-fast 0.2 ms response time, making everything from indie titles to AAA blockbusters look their best.

Under the hood is AMD’s Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, paired with 24 GB of LPDDR5X memory and a 1 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. ASUS ROG has also refined the controls with drift-resistant TMR joysticks, a transforming D-pad that switches between four-way and eight-way input, and more comfortable rear grips for those gaming sessions that somehow stretch well beyond bedtime.

The bundle also includes the ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 Gaming AR Glasses, a special edition of the ROG XREAL R1 we saw earlier this year. Plug them into the handheld, and they project a virtual 171-inch display with a 240 Hz refresh rate, turning almost anywhere into your personal gaming room without disturbing everyone else around you.

The ROG XBOX Ally X20 Bundle is expected to be available in the fourth quarter of 2026 through the ASUS Store, Best Buy, Micro Center, and other participating retailers. Pricing has yet to be announced, but considering it bundles a limited-edition handheld with matching AR glasses, it is safe to say this celebration won’t come cheap.
