Tesla Finally Launches Official Wireless Charging Pad For Model 3

Despite it being high-tech automobiles, Tesla Motors’ EVs never had wireless charging for your trusty smartphone. Previously, someone has solved that by coming with a third-party solution for Tesla Model 3 which costs 99 bucks. Now, we hear Tesla has its own official Tesla Model 3 Wireless Phone Charger too. It shouldn’t come as a surprise. The only question is, why only now? Shouldn’t it be integrated with all Tesla EV in the first place.

Anyways, it is here now and like the unofficial Tesla Wireless Charging Pad, it fits perfectly at the minimal center console’s phone tray. Tesla Model 3 Wireless Phone Charger has a non-slip, silicone surface so that your phone won’t go flying when there’s a sudden change in inertia. Tesla did not offer details on the inner working of the Tesla Model 3 Wireless Phone Charger. But, really, it doesn’t need to too because, Tesla Motors.

In any case, we do know that the wireless charging pad has a real estate to charge two phones simultaneously and it is compatible with any Qi-enabled smartphone. This is not the first smartphone accessory coming from the prolific the U.S. electric vehicle maker, though; previously the company has released a power bank that touts the same cell used on Tesla vehicles, as well as an adorable Desktop Supercharger.

As with almost all Tesla Motors’ products, be it automobile or otherwise, the Tesla Model 3 Wireless Phone Charger doesn’t come cheap. It will set you back at a healthy $125.
