Bentley And The Macallan Reveal The Macallan Horizon Single Malt Whiskey

Bentley Motors x The Macallan Horizon Single Malt Whiskey

Drinking and driving do not mix but it never stops automakers and distilleries from serving up a bottle or two. The Bentley Motors x The Macallan is the latest to join this exclusive automobile x whiskey club. Bentley has collaborated with the world-renowned distillery for an exquisite distilled spirit bottled in an unparalleled vessel.

The Macallan Horizon, as it is called, is the first limited-edition single malt whiskey being created by the brand collaboration inked in 2021. Like Bentley automobiles, The Macallan Horizon is just not just about the extraordinary single malt whiskey crafted for this release; it is also about the vessel too. This ground-breaking horizontal vessel reflects the sustainability core that’s at the heart of the partnership.

The prototype of The Macallan Horizon marries traditional craftsmanship, recycled materials, and an exclusive horizontal design. As an homage to The Macallan’s Six Pillars, the foundation stones of the brand, this unique vessel incorporates six unique upcycled, repurposed, or ethically sourced materials.

The Macallan Horizon features a hand-made glass bottle with an extraordinary 180-degree twist, cradle inside an intricate twisted 3D structure with no standing base. True to the ethos of sustainability, this cradle is crafted in recycled copper from the disused, small spirit stills found at The Macallan’s former distillery.

Also used to craft the cradle is aluminum recovered from the production of the Continental GT, Flying Spur, and Bentayga from the Crewe’s plant, and recycled wood from both brands. Meanwhile, the leather of the cradle, claims to be the world’s lowest CO2 leather and the same leather used in the exclusive Bentley Mulliner Batur grand tourer, is sourced locally in Scotland.

The Macallan Horizon will launch in Summer 2023 at an undisclosed price. Meanwhile, you can learn more about this special collab spirit on Bentley and The Macallan websites.
