Ghostbusters Plasma Series Hits Up HasLab With Screen-Accurate Spengler’s Proton Pack

Ghostbusters Plasma Series Spengler’s Proton Pack

What do you know? Hasbro’s HasLab has not two, but three HasLab projects going on right now. In addition to the G.I. Joe Skystriker and Star Wars The Black Series Rancor figure, there’s a Ghostbusters Plasma Series Spengler’s Proton Pack too.

It is the first-ever Ghostbusters HasLab project, well, not that HasLab has a long history. Just saying…. Anyhoo, the Ghostbusters Plasma Series Spengler’s Proton Pack is 1:1 scale, and therefore it is good as a display piece as well as for cosplaying.

But here’s the thing; as you may have noted from the product title, it is not based on the Proton Pack from 1984’s blockbuster movie. Instead, it is based on the new Ghostbusters flick, Ghostbusters: Afterlife which will hit the theaters next month.

That’s quite a bummer for fans of the original movie if you ask me, but as a boon, it is compatible with the Ghostbusters Plasma Series Spengler’s Neutrona Wand (not included).

With the Ghostbusters Plasma Series Spengler’s Proton Pack, it is as good as a replica as it is scanned directly from the Ghostbusters: Afterlife Proton Pack hero prop.

You know what this means. This means a boatload of screen-accurate details, including the booster, power cell injectors, bumper, shock mount – just to pick out a few.

And for the ultimate geeks, you’d be glad that you can open the cyclotron and explore the inner workings.

Not the most spectacular light-up function though.

Finally, it is functional… ermm, kind of. It has lights, sounds from both the 1984 film and the 2021 flick, and a motor for active role-play. Basically, it can do everything to mimic the movie’s Proton Pack except subduing ghosts or any evil spirits.

The Ghostbusters Plasma Series Spengler’s Proton Pack is currently being crowdfunded on HasLab with an asking price of US$399.99. Hasbro is seeking at least 7,000 backers by December 12, 2021, 11:59 PM EST to move the project to production.
