Godzilla has been busy lending his likeness to popcorn buckets, but fans who prefer wheels beneath their feet have something to look forward to, too. Four new Godzilla x Santa Cruz skateboard decks have landed exclusively at Godzilla Store US. And judging by the graphics, deciding to actually skate on one may be harder than choosing which to buy.
The Godzilla Destroyer Recolor is the big guy here, measuring 11 x 32 inches (27.9 x 81.3 cm). Its custom silhouette follows Godzilla’s head, while a textured surface evokes his scales. Spot gloss, silver mirror foil, and a laser-engraved logo complete the US$125 deck. It has an Old School concave, too, should you manage to convince yourself to take it off the wall.
The Shin Godzilla Knox Firepit Purple, meanwhile, pairs a candy metallic purple finish with spot gloss. At 10.07 x 31.275 inches (25.6 x 79.4 cm), it offers a wider shape and longer tail for US$99.95.
For the familiar popsicle shape, there’s the Godzilla Hand Popsicle, an 8 x 31.6-inch (20.3 x 80.3 cm) deck with prismatic foil graphics, priced at US$79.95. The Roskopp Red goes fishtail, combining Rob Roskopp’s signature-model proportions with a candy metallic red finish for US$99.95.
All four are limited-edition, officially licensed decks built from seven-ply North American maple.
And please don’t overlook the Godzilla vs. Santa Cruz Grip Tape. The roaring Godzilla graphic looks super cool, giving the top of your board something worth showing off, too. The 9 x 33-inch (22.9 x 83.8 cm) sheet costs US$16.95.
Not going to lie. This announcement kind of rekindled my own ambition of having a bunch of beautiful skateboard decks decorating the walls of one of my rooms. Unfortunately, I do not have the kind of money that the dude with a supreme passion for Supreme skateboard decks has.
