The legendary sword that seals the darkness has suffered its greatest indignity yet: it now requires AAA batteries. Folks, meet Hasbro’s The Legend of Zelda Electronic Master Sword, an interactive roleplay toy for aspiring heroes who have yet to receive their summons from Hyrule.
Inspired by the Master Sword seen in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, this officially licensed weapon measures 69 cm (27 inches) long and features appropriately heroic sculpted details. It produces more than 15 sounds, including iconic game music, weapon-equipping noises, and effects triggered whenever you swing or clash the sword.
It even recognizes when it is picked up or set down by the hilt. In other words, the sword knows when its chosen hero has abandoned the quest because dinner is ready.
The Master Sword arrives with the required AAA batteries, so owners can begin terrorizing imaginary Bokoblins immediately. Hasbro recommends it for ages four and up, though we suspect many buyers will be old enough to remember when Link was made from approximately twelve pixels.
The Hasbro The Legend of Zelda Electronic Master Sword is available to pre-order from September 9, 2026, for US$39.99. It ships in spring 2027. Ganondorf, pots, and unexplained property damage are not included.
